filming in hainault

We filmed in hainault forrest today, we thought we would use the hills and the nature as a good background for dancing and lip syncing. The sun was bright so it was perfect weather to fim in.

We also took photos for our digipak and possibly our poster as we have photos to reference our film making process the whole way through.

Risk Assessment + did we stick to it???

1. No Filming in Inappropriate places
2. Check safety of locations
3. Minimise Risk of Theft of equipment
4. Make sure it is known to others where we are
5. Check all equipment is working
6. Make sure we have permission of filming if necessary
7. Permission of those in which we are filming
8. Never film alone
9. When using fire make sure everything flammable is clear from the fire

When we was filming we stuck to most of the rules we set ourselves. We always filmed in a group and did not film in an inappropriate place. we was approached when we was filming in trafalgar square, but was allowed to film once we showed them our student cards. WE checked that our equipment worked and told are parents where we was going when we was filming. as we were the only characters in our  film we knew it was okay to film each other as we were prepared to do so. We held our cameras in bags across our body so they could not be taken from our posession. 

The only problem we had was the fire. We struggled to set the rose on fire and had to make a flame thrower make it burn. this was not safe, however, we are still alive-thank god. 

Charlie Simpson 'Parachutes'

We used this video as insperation in our music video as we put a box over the singer with photos on it as we was walking along the inside strip of a road, similar to Charlie Simpson with the coard over him. We likes this cause we could display our 'Rosie' friendship on the singer to the audience using this.

This video is also similar to Brenard Fannings song Wish You Well.

Daisy Dares You, Wikipedia ans MySpace...

We did some research into daisy dares you and looked at her myspace and wikipedia to see how old she was and research into her fan base and see how old she is. She is the same age as us, and her fans are mostly teenage girls, so this is the audience we have to appeal to.

School filming

At the back of our school there is a small forest type place with a path down the middle which we thought would be perfect to film in. Our idea was to create lots of random scenes there to fit in the middle of the video between all the lip syncing scenes.

We filmed myself and Georgia dancing and running in and out of the trees. It matches the nature theme of the video and the bright natural sunlight is the same as in all the shots we have previously filmed.

London filming: Parliament

When filming in parliament we chose not to lip synch the words. instead we shot clips of us talking into telephone boxes and looking like tourists.

Public changing rooms

When filming in London we had nowhere to change, so we had to use public toilets, side streets and parks to change from outfit to outfit when we was filming different scenes. This made filming londer and more difficult as we had to find somewhere to change ourfits before we went to out next location.

When we filmed in london we wanted to get as many shots done in one day as possible, so we took lots of outfits to change into, bought travel cards, and visited lots of locations in the day. 

We went to camden to film in funky locations, we found lots of grafiti and decided to film there as it looked cool and the colours were bright. We also filmed around a busy atmosphere as all the people were dressed funkily; similar to me and georgia.   

We sung in trafalgar square by the fountain using microphones. We was stopped by security and asked to show our school badges so we was able to film. Thankfully we brought them with us! We struggled filming in this locations as it was very busy and lots of people were looking at us and coming over to watch. 

Hilighted in pink are the different locations that we visited when we was filming in central london.

We filmed by a phone box as there is a lyric in the song 'grab the phone i'm here to talk, or come over and take a walk' we thought it would be a good idea to have them walking into a red phone box. 

We went to buckingham palace dressed as nerds to suggest the characters trying to look smart. 

We took the actors (myself and georgia) to buckingham palace to courtesy in front of the queens house. 

We took lots of pictures when we was out filming as we knew we would nee them for our digipak. 

After a long day we was all really tires and just wanted to get home...

London filming: Camden

Camden

When we arrived in camden we was looking for a location that was more urban than the locations we had already. These being more naturistic and simple. We went underground in camden market to a grafiti wall that we thought would be perfect to film against. We chose to wear darker clothes than our normal choice of clothing to fir in with the surroundings. The aim of this shoot was to show 'rosie' and her friend in different locations, showing the progression of thier friendship.

These are the types of outfits we are planning to wear in london when we go filming. We want to visit lots of locations in the same day so we get more filming done, therefore we will be taking lots of outfits with us.

We decided to plan ourfits we were going to  use in our music video as there are two chrecters so we had to make sure our clothes co-ordinated with eachother. We looked on the topshop website for inspiration ans decided that thrroughout the video we would wear quirly colourful outfits with lots of accessories.

We used this video as inspiration as Ed Sheeran is singing whilst on a boast in a canal. We thought it would also be good to film there as the outdoor environment is what we used in out video.

The artist of this song is similar to the one we are using in our media video. Its is a solo girl singer. Her voice also sounds alike and has a similar target audience to 'Daisy Dares you'. The music video is concentrating on the artist. I like how bright colours are used

These music videos have fast editing. The clips are all edited to the beat so the song and the video look connected. this is the effect we hope to acheive in our music video.

preliminary task and analysis

This is our preliminary task, we was set it by our teacher to practice lip syncing to music and also practice using final cut express ourselves to make a mini music video for elton johns "don't go breaking my heart".

We found it quite easy to perfect the lip syncing, as when recording ourselves we had the music playing in the background. And switching between shots was easy as we had don't that before when we did our thilers. However, when it came to using split screens we struggled to make it look right and keep in singing in sync.
